Etude House Review (3) alphabet masks

Hello everyone. Do you know of the 10-step korean skincare routine? Well, I didn't use to. Apparently it's a long care routine that you do every day for healthier skin. I will write about that one in a later entry. In the 10-step program you have to use a facial mask 2 times a week. Therefore, i began to look for face masks, and I stumbled upon the Alphabet series from Etude House. Every mask has a letter which represents a different core ingredient. The masks also have different purposes so look carefully when buying one (or in my case buying five).

I bought the masks at Eyecandys.com which is a website that mainly focuses on colored lenses, but they have a beauty section where they sell makeup, skincare and much more. The makeup brands they mostly sell are Etude House and 3CE, but there are other brands and more coming.

They have a special offer where you get a lower price when purchasing a certain number of masks. You get a cheaper price when buying 5, 10 or 15 masks. This was just a test buy so I got 5. 1 for my mom, 2 for my sister and 2 for me.

The package (or rather the letter) arrived fairly fast. In about a week or so. You guys have to see the package!

I mean look at it! Not only is the store and products cute, the packaging is also cute. I almost get hypnotized by the color. Sooo shiny~
The inside of the envelope is covered in bubblewrap, so even small and fragile products are properly protected.

(Sorry for the bad lightning)

These are the masks that I ordered. I tried to diversify it a little so I got masks with different functions. Bulgarian Rose and Mango is for my sister and Fig is for my mom. Today I will be reviewing the Yoghurt Strawberry and Pomegranate variants.

(Bad lightning again)

I chose 2 different masks on purpose because I wanted to see the different effects they might have. The Yoghurt Strawberry is for Soft & Moist and the Pomegranate is for Smooth Elasticity. The design on the packaging is so cute and yummy. I can't wait to smell these! They're certainly not bad to look at. Now to try them:

An instant smell of the products hit you when you open the bag where the sheet is. The yoghurt one smells like a yoghurt/cream combination and the pomegranate smells like very pure pomegranate.
The sheet is folded when you take it out and also ENVELOPED in cream. Make sure it doesn't get smothered everywhere when you fold out the mask. I don't know if there's a certain side you have to put on your face but it doesn't seem like it. The mask itself is made of bamboo, so it feels extremely soft when you hold it.

You have to wear the mask for 15-20 minutes. This is NOT a mask that you remove when it dries out cause it will NOT dry out. I did not know that when I tried the Yoghurt mask so I left it on for, like, 45 minutes. You're supposed to take it off after those 15-20 minutes and massage the cream into you skin.

The mask is really nice to wear as it has a slight cooling effect (maybe because it's winter). I haven't tried one of these in the summer. It feels like a normal facial cream when you rub it in. It may be hard though since your skin stays sticky for some time afterwards. If you wear glasses, like I do, you might want to wait with wearing them for some time afterwards.

I don't know about the elasticity part since I do not have any wrinkles or bags under my eyes, but my face gets really moisturized no matter what mask I use. The day after, my skin is really soft and not dry at all. These masks are made to be used often. If you know and follow the korean 10-step skin care routine, then you know that you have to use a facial mask 2 times a week.

Pros:

-Moisturizing
-Cheap
-Makes your skin really soft
-Made of environmentally friendly materials (bamboo)

Cons:

-Really sticky (even after you massaged the cream in)

If you guys want to buy these masks you can get them here. I don't think that Etude House really produces them anymore, but they've made a new series of masks named "I need you mask" that are a renewed version of the alphabet masks which you can buy here.

See you the next time ヘ(^_^ヘ)

Etude House (2) and Innisfree review (1)

Sooo, it's been a while since I last purchased something and there's still a lot of products that I need to order. I have a very limited budget every month but I recently gained a bonus, so here I am again!

I ordered from jolse.com again. They seem to have become my favorite cosmetic store by now (hehe).

As usual my things arrived in a sturdy box with every thing wrapped securely in bubble wrap. None of the things were damaged. The box only had a small hit on the front (as shown in the picture).

This time i bought two things. One from Etude House and the other from Innisfree. I got the Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher and Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder.

I was in love with the Lovely Cookie Blush from Etude House the moment I saw it for the first time. It comes in a variety of colors (more than 10 I think?). However, it was very hard to see which color was named what on their website so I went with "Strawberry Choux". The case is very easy to carry around and it's also very cute. The puff makes it easy to apply and blend the blush on your cheeks. Even though the ribbon on it adds extra looks, it doesn't make it easy to grab the puff. I had to hold it tightly with my thumb and pointer finger, which doesn't create a 'sturdy' applying process. Even though the color is very vibrant, it doesn't show that much on your cheeks. Taking pictures wont help that much either.

I've always wanted to get this no-sebum powder. I personally think I have quite the sebum problem, mostly on my nose and forehead. Originally I was going to buy the Etude House Dear Girls Oil Control Pact but I heard this one worked miracles. It's with a natural mineral from the Island of Jeju in South Korea. It's also with natural originated mint. Natural ingredients are typical for innisfree. The jar is a soft, pastel green color to match with the mint. When you open the lid you se a security sticker that shows that the powder hasn't been used.
The first thing i noticed was the smell. It smells a little like mint but like some kind of powdery mint. Kind of weird. This powder is excellent for sucking up sebum. You can't see that you are wearing the powder, perfect for those makeup-free days where your face is a little greasy. This is my favorite so far.

To conclude this, the blush was in the perfect color. The color is very vibrant to look at, but it doesn't show up that much on your face. The case is also so cute and it's nice to have with me in case of ghost face.

The sebum powder is the best I have tried so far. It's easy to apply and I don't think it's possible to add too much. It's great at sucking up sebum, sweat and other similar liquids. It's not obvious that you are wearing it and everyone else wont suspect a thing! If you are to busy one morning, you can just dab a little on your face and you are ready to go.

Would I recommend these products: Yes, if you need some color for your face, then the blusher is a good beginner's item. it's also my first blush and I love it already.
The sebum powder is amazing for sebum control. It's easy to apply, you don't need much and it  for a long time. If your face get's greasy again then it's easy to puff your face again.

This is all for this time. There are some more reviews I need to write, so I better get back to work! You can buy the blush here and the sebum powder here.

It's good to be back~
